Picture rotates
How do you stop the forum rotating pictures uploaded? It seems to alway turn portrait pictures 90 degrees. Even if I rotate my picture prior to upload it still rotates it
Regards Bill
Re: Picture rotates
There is a very long very technical discussion about this, but it usually boils down to the use of mobile phones and ipads etc as cameras. They include orientation in the metadata and the forum interprets that and rotates accordingly - the act of rotating before posting does not overwrite the original data. My recommendation is to view the picture in the correct rotation, using the Windows snipping tool (any version) to grab a screenshot and save that to disc and then attach that in the post. It has the advantage of being the correct rotation and a small file size to load quickly. There's probably an IOS and Android equivalent, but you'll have to do your own research.

Re: Picture rotates
Found the solution
Open picture, select edit, the save as 1:1 ratio. Now when posted it keeps the viewed orientation.
Sorry if I should of posted in different area, perhaps you could move please.
Problems with message board?

Good find, useful info. I'll incorporate that into a "how to" guide when I get time.

Thanks for your help, couldn't find online answer so just had a play after you explaining why and hit on the solution. Hope it helps others.

Re: Picture rotates
Resetting the ratio also crops the image.

Re: Picture rotates
If posting from a Mac opening the photo in Preview and doing a crop of the picture whilst in the correct orientation causes the photo to upload without rotating.
