Over the years I have squirrelled away a few 7" brake back plates and drums from cars that were either being scrapped or uprated to 8"
Is "originality" becoming an issue or is the 8" upgrade preferred?
Do I put them in the car the next time I go to the tip?!
7" brakes worth saving?

Re: 7" brakes worth saving?
Well, ESM stocks 'reconditioned' 7" front back plates at £35 each, so I would hang onto them a little while yet, perhaps a little bit of cleaning up and painting might be worth it.
New pattern 7" drums are readily available as they're the same as the rear.
Now whether an original in good condition is better than a pattern, is anyone's guess, but I'm sure some would prefer an original.

Thanks for the replies. If it ever stops raining I will sort them out, take photos and post on here.
In the meantime, if anyone wants some, get in touch. They are under a bench which I am moving and dont want to hang onto them for another 15 years!
