Engine, best guess

Hi Gang
There is an engine going cheap near to me but I can't work out what it is. The seller, it would seem, has no idea either and possibly found it as part of a clear out of her old mans' garage.
I'd say an early 948cc motor, any advances?

I have asked her to check the block for a number like 950, 1100 or 1275. Maybe she'll come good.

Not a early 'A' Series but a BMC 'B' Series. Possibly a 1.8 unit from a commercial vehicle..

Cheers Phil. I'd never have guessed that and I suppose it's not a good donor/upgrade for a Minor.
