Re: 57 Saloon, rotten!
I like the contrast in greens in the interior, it looks good and tidies up the old tatty panels very well.
Don't bother with plastic chromed over-riders though, I had some come with the car and they are cr*p. You'd be better off finding a set of good second hand originals if you think yours are fit only for the so called 'rat look'. You might see some at the National.
Best wishes,
Mike.

Thanks Mike I'll get some metal ones when the piggy bank has filled up a bit then, good to know either way before buying anything like that, cheers.

Finish looks amazing for rattle-can job. Excellent stuff!!! I presume the tea mug was an essential part of the job

Re: 57 Saloon, rotten!
It was coffee actually
A well earned one I reckon, I think cans can be ok if they are from the proper paint places, it's just their regular stuff rammed in a can with the hardner, less mess too.
I had 4 cans made up, I've used about half a can on the rear bumper valance and a can and a half on that rear panel up to the rear window swage line so hopefully I'll have plenty to do the wing edges, door openings and go around the whole car touching bits up.

Go for it, as long as you build up the layers slowly they don't run like the little rattle cans from a typical motor factors used to.palacebear wrote:Certainly encouraging! Might even tackle my bumper valences myself... as a learning exercise

Re: 57 Saloon, rotten!
We look forward to their restoration plus the update photos, plenty of rainy days coming to an area near you soon (and the rest of us) methinks.....
Best wishes,
Mike.

Re: 57 Saloon, rotten!
Thankfully I only did my first post with photo bucket. I've gone back and saved the photos and uploaded directly to the forum using the attachments add files option. Its not easy finding a site to host third party these days.

I can't see the point of photo-hosting. For one thing, your photos can be found by most search engines, making them visible to more or less anyone, whether you like it or not. All my pics sit safely on an external hard-drive, so I can upload them where I want, when I want

Didnt have a choice when the website first changed over. Some are still struggling now.palacebear wrote:I can't see the point of photo-hosting.
