[quote="MoggyTech"]Forgot to mention before, Insurance premiums are also a post code lottery. quote]

I agree. I noticed something very strange though, I used to live in Binley Woods, nr Coventry (two streets away from where the filming took place for Hyacinth's bungalow in Keeping Up Appearances). Very nice place, outside Coventry, very little crime etc.

We had the same postcode area as Stoke Aldermoor (the council estate where Onslow's house was filmed in Keeping Up Appearances) where a police raid and/or burnt out car was the norm.

There was also 5 miles between the two areas. Very odd.

When postcodes first came in, my address was Guilden Morden, South Cambridge.
The post code was SG8. Stevenage Herts.
Up went all insurance premiums.

Yes, I think the risk assessment areas are too large. They don't take into account that a large town can have both low and high risk areas.

If it doesn't work, you're not hitting it with a big enough hammer.

Another "trick" used by some people is if they live in a high risk area to use a relatives low risk address instead.
Unfortunantley that won't work as it's standard practice by insurers to check the voters list to confirm a person actually lives at that address .
