Or at least get very wet in the attempt!
I wonder about a seperate place for the disussion. Can you password a entry in facebook?
If you want to take it off the site I could set up a mailing list on my server with moderated subscription.
I have a small boat trailer and live near to a test site with a slipway. we could build and store it here nearer the date. I even have a few ideas!
Count me in.
Excellent!

If it doesn't work, you're not hitting it with a big enough hammer.

Also the logistics of getting them accross the water.....
What about just paddling it over. Don't you have confidence in your own craft??

I am up for the interbranch challenge and have means of raft transportation. I have a 6ft x18ft trailer too (braked 750kg), which if nessesary can be lent out to move it

I can probably get my hands on a fair few oil drums (205L?) and pallets in the next few weeks if thats going to be any good

I am indeed, but shall remain completely impartial. I've seen several tentative designs but shall not disclose anything to other teams, merely give advice if it's going too silly and liable to be disqualified - I'd rather see EVERYONE participate safely. It's really heartening to see how interest has been generated over 7 months before the event.
