My New Morris
Hi there,
Below are some photos of my newly rebuilt 1966 2dr saloon. My father bought it for me 6 years ago as my first car (the first picture is was taken soon after I got it, though after I had replaced the interior). After 5 years it was looking nasty with rust, so I ground it all out about a year ago and red oxided (see pics) it still looked horrible but at least it wasn't rotting. So over the last six months (about 2 months work in total) I have stripped, resprayed and rebuilt my Morris, making all the modifications I have been planning for the last 6 years! Probably a purists nightmare but its just what I've always wanted...
2002/2003, about 1 year after purchase with new interior
2008, as it stands today
Begining of strip down, note red oxide everywhere!
Interior a few days after purchase 6 years ago, note gaffa tape interior and 50 unoperational switches under the dash installed by bodging previous owner
Interior now
2002...
...2008. The dash and speaker panels are not finished yet but you get the idea. Drivers glove box will accomodate Dual Oil and Water gauge and rev. light switches etc
A small sub set up, perfectly loud enough though. The boot shakes so thats loud enough!
Next summer (once I have replenished my funds!) I am planning to switch the engine and gearbox for a 1275 Midget one and put on disc brakes with a servo.
Cheers,
George

Thank you all for the comments, I'm completely delighted with it I must say. A good pay off for some hard work
I prepped and primed the car myself but had the colour coat put on by a paint shop my Dad uses. I can get a nice smooth finish but not quite that smooth! Its not an original Morris colour but 'BLMC British Racing Green', so semi befitting as its a BL colour ;)
