Clutch
well my clutch pedal clearance is now at its max adjustment (on the inside side on the rod)
i assume this means il be needing a new clutch soon enough
hopefully they are still available? will one from a morris 8 be the same fitment?

If the linkage is the same on the MM as on the 1000, it can also mean that the linkage is worn and/or the bush at the relay arm has disintegrated.

If it doesn't work, you're not hitting it with a big enough hammer.

The clutch assembly, clutch plate and thrust bearing are all the same as the 803 / 948 A series.
If you have run out of adjustment on the adjuster clutch rod you can always increase the length of the thread on the rod. Quite often there is wear in the swivel hole in the pivot plate (part 37) which connects the clutch adjuster rod to the short rod which connects to the clutch lever. This can be overcome by turning the plate around to take out the wear.

Many years ago I was towing a boat on a trailer plus 2 passengers in the MM when the clutch rod broke in the middle of Reading. I made it to the railway station to drop one passenger off who then pushed the car so I could get 1st gear. I managed the next 2 miles uphill to my home still towing the boat.
