Restoring my white Moggy Archie :) [[UPDATED 30/12/2010]]
Hello everyone,
I am currently restoring my saloon, Archie.
He is now proudly sitting in my garage waiting to be resprayed ...[frame][/frame]
We have stripped him down so that he can be resprayed both inside and out.
We removed the engine ...[frame][/frame]
Seats, headliner, lights and wiring have also been removed.
We finished the welding over the weekend and sprayed all underneath...[frame][/frame]
More welding ...[frame][/frame][frame][/frame]
Also, new jacking points have been fitted and painted the same colour to fit in with the welding ...[frame][/frame]
Just a few more bits and bobs to remove from Archie, then he will be going into the spray shop within the next 2 - 3 weeks for his makeover inside and out.
Hoping to add more pics as Archie comes to a full recovery.
And a bit more welding to finish it off ...[frame][/frame][frame][/frame]
ADDED 02/11/10
Went to see Archie in the paint shop today, he has his first coat of primer on
[frame][/frame]
ADDED 12/11/10:
Went to see Archie yesterday, he is starting to look really nice if I do say so myself ...[frame][/frame][frame][/frame]
Final coat of paint is now going on [frame][/frame][frame][/frame]
Archie should be coming out of the paint shop soon

Fetched Archie back from the paint shop today [frame][/frame]
He is now sitting in my garage for a week until the paint hardens ...[frame][/frame]
[frame][/frame]
I must say, he is looking good ...[frame][/frame][frame][/frame]
We should be able to start putting Archie back together soon [frame][/frame][frame][/frame]

Re: Restoring my white Moggy Archie :)
Latest update!!!
Archie is sitting in my garage now; I have put one of the door cards on to see what it will look like ...[frame][/frame]
I have been busy working on the engine, which is now ready to fit when I get the chance - the engine, gearbox and propshaft are all now ready, but I need a dry day so I can get under Archie to start putting his running gear back together![frame][/frame]
Loom and seatbelts arrived today, so they have been put into storage

Re: Restoring my white Moggy Archie :) [[UPDATED 29/12/2010]]
LATEST FROM DAVE AND ARCHIE!!
We have been working on Archie now for the last few days ...
Got the front and rear windscreens fitted:[frame][/frame][frame][/frame]
Also fitted the new headliner ...[frame][/frame]
And interior light ...
[frame][/frame]
It's amazing how much room you can generate in the garage when it's so cold outside!
We even managed to fit the new wiring loom, including all the lights, trafficators and dashboard fittings/switches ...[frame][/frame]
Also fitted the rear parcel shelf
[frame][/frame]
Got the engine bay ready yesterday ...[frame][/frame]
Hoping to fit the engine, gearbox, etc. within the next week, now looking forward to the season of Spring so that Archie can come out of hibernation!!
Will keep you updated

Re: Restoring my white Moggy Archie :) [[UPDATED 30/12/2010]]
don't want to be rude, as it really is a brilliant car! but is that one of those notorious blue topped electronic fuel pumps? im only saying this because they are notorious for breaking, and , really you cant beat whacking the old SU pumps with the starting handle in the morning
either way, excellent work and happy Minoring!
