MOT in France. tag along. with a car or not?

am looking for some1 if they want to join me on this years MOT event in france.

all you need is spending money, a sleeping bag and time off. everythings paid for you so if intrested we can go?

owww dont worry im not a new morris member.
this would be my 11th or so MOT and bein going to rallys with my dad since like 1998.

as i was going with my ex gf. as we split up i have a place for some1. and my dad said about this new members thing and i thought il see if i can get a new member to come with me if they wanted to..
like if they were too scared to go along alone? etc etc?

At last!!! Someone nearby with a mog!
Where exactly are you? I'm just out of Rushmere in Ipswich with a '70 4 door in black with silver minilites.
Been a member for a year but had a maroon 4 door since i was 15, lost interest when i realised it was made from underseal and fibreglass, then bought my black one all the way from NI and dad drove it back for me. Took 10 hours or more to get back.

I have been debating whether to take the plunge and tag along, just unsure of what to do with the campsite etc.
I'm currently doing brake, engine and gearbox upgrade atm in the back garden but hoping to test it out on the MOT once all is well.

Be a shame not to meet up if we both end up going. let us know what you reckon.

BTW my 18th is like 3 weeks after so you'll have to get the beers in pal!

I'd suggest somewhere a bit closer for your shakedown run.
You wouldn't be the first person to use the MOT for this, but unless you have rebuilt several Minors before there will probably be one or two issues that need fettling before such a long trip.

Yes, I do agree with you MarkyB, it is a big risk to take a rebuilt car on long distance runs. We have a couple of rallies around here in May that I will be taking the car on. If all goes well and no major problems are thrown up after a few hundred miles, then I'm probably going to take the plunge and come along on MOT.
Lucky for me I have AA abroad cover and engineer/ex mechanic dad so he will be checking my work to make sure that it's ok.

I meant to ask also when the cut off date is for booking the campsite in France?

Sounds like you are well prepared then, you are too late to get a chalet or caravan I think but you should be able to book a camping pitch, I think it's another large well appointed site.

Highly recommended but beware! Very addictive!

and campling u wont need to as dad says theres room in our moterhome / onsite caravan thing? so no tents needed

i check my emails alot on my phone so we can sort somthing out asap

HI i Have a offer for any young member of the MMOC.. if you wanna go on this years MOT event in france you can,
I have a spare seat in my traveller and free accommadation on the camp site, all you need is time off and spending money and a sleeping bag or whatever to sleep in? and Obv live near ipswich or surranding countys (suffolk/norfolk/essex and kent) kent as im going through it too dover?
