Hi all I am currently building a silly project and im in the process of mocking up the front end.
I have got most of a disc brake conversion that I got from mr grumpys many years ago. when comparing it to modern sized brakes they seen rather under rated so I want to go bigger and better.
I would like to go to a larger disc with a vented centre to counter brake fade.
I am probably going to be using a capri back axle so any matching upgrades would be ideal!
I am using the master cylinder from an audi A3 with its servo so there is plenty to input available for the calipers.
What is everyone else doing for brakes on their monsters? I would like to keep the ford PCD and wheel size will probably be limited to 18", Im thinking of using the hubs and bearings from the disc kit and then mafing custom caliper brackets, but what calipers and discs to use?
Lets see some pics if possible.

Re: alternative front brakes
Well i presume sticking with standard ford discs would be easiest to keep the pcd. Jlh seem to use XR3 or Escort RS Turbo components. http://www.jlhmorrisminors.co.uk/store/ ... at&catId=3 Will be interested to see the work required as i also have a marina disc setup currently which will need uprating. I believe someone did a good budget conversion using clio parts which you may be able to find on the forum.
