How to fit Split Windscreen?

Post by saltycarol »

I would like to fit a new split windscreen to Emily, my 1971 Morris Minor 1000 Saloon. I have the bits but not the knowhow. Can anyone help please?

Welcome to the messageboard. I'm a bit confused by your message though as a 1971 Minor would have a one piece windscreen, not a split screen. Are you sure that it's a 1971 car? Does it currently have a split screen? :-?

Yes, the split screen cars have a completely different shape aperture. The two pieces of glass are flat and the bodyshell is different to accommodate that.

Sorry I made a mistake with the year! It's an early one. Emily actually belongs to my hubby. He bought her as an unfinished project.

This subject has been covered extensively, I would advise you to read all the threads, especially in the Series MM section. You will then know what you are letting yourself in for and change your mind. :(

Hey, thanks very much - quite a bit of info in the Series MM Section. We'll give it a go ourselves and see how we get on. :D
