chassis numbers

I was at a classic car show today and caught someone taking note of vin no and body no of my car. when challenged he could not give a good reason why.I have informed the police.could he be cloning car id

What reason did he give? He might have just have been the Minor equivalent of a 'train spotter' and was too embarrassed to say so.

I always make a note of Series MM chassis numbers at rallies, haven't cloned any though

I always say the reason WHY I collect these numbers....perhaps he didn't hear me if my face was a 6" from the body number plate...I know not(?)!
I don't even know if it WAS me?!
If it wasn't me, he should be concerned!!
The reason FOR my research is to prevent Minors being "cloned"!
