Help with convertible fitting

I have made a horrid mistake and now require expertise to rescue my dream. I have decided to renovate my moggie - I have a convertible morris 1000 and the roof was in a sorry state of affairs.
So I decided to buy a replacement roof and in my excitement and eggerness - I have taken off and binned the old roof

I have recently had the replacement roof delivered without fitting instructions........

I now have no idea how to fit the hood or anything - any one out there can save me?????

I just fear I'm going to make a mess of it, I've tried to contact local Morris minor medics but they seem to have stopped trading

Any pictures/advice/instructions etc will be appreciated

Start at the back and 'tack' the hood on temporarily starting at the centre and work out to each side.

Then with the frame pulled forward, but NOT located on the front pins so it's overhanging the front screen slightly, lay the hood over and 'tack' again to the front header ensuring there are no creases anywhere

Then pull the frame back onto the location pins so the frame lifts and tightens the hood and take a look at the fit.

If it's OK and your happy, your good to nail it on permanently.

It may need a couple of attempts to get it in the correct position though

Hi,

The Haynes and Lindsay Porter book give detailed instructions on how to reattach the hood. The pictures are not brilliant but are better than non at all.

Thanks for the replies

The lazy guy/scared to mess it up! Would rather pay an experienced person/done it before to help
Do you know of any one in the Milton Keynes area that could help me?

I'm willing to pay - thanks again

I think Minorparts of Oxford are your nearest Minor specialist: http://www.minorpartsofoxford.co.uk/

Also worth looking in the yellow pages or doing a Google search for car trimmers / roof fitters in your area to see if there's someone more local who can help.

Hi. Does anyone have any idea where I can get the front everflex panel that goes over the main fixings that attach soft top hood? About 1m long & 50mm wide in burgundy. Thanks for any help. Ian

Hi Ian,

Might be worth contacting Don Hoods

http://www.donhoods.com/

They've been very helpful with my hood!
