will a 12g295 cylinder head fit on a minor without any mods?

Yes but you need to skim to maintain the cr. I think it's usually 60 thou that's taken off. Other replies will confirm.

Only the inlet valve is slightly bigger (and the chambers are a better shape) .....and yes it needs a 60 thou skim - but do check it hasn't been skimmed already. Any performance improvement on an otherwise standard engine set up will be minimal.......the inlet valve size is not the limiting factor......
