Torsion bars

Does anyone know how to tell which torsion bar goes on which side, i have my uprated ones sat in the garage and i knew which was which but now after 6 mnths i am not so sure, just wondering if there is a way to be positive?

If they are new then it doesn't matter as the bars are identical. The only problem is that after years of useage they twist slightly and so it's better to put them back as they were as opposed to putting them back the other way so that they are untwisting with use.

If you've still got the suspension arms fitted to your uprated bars and the car is/was undersealed this could hold the clue, as the top of the bars are likely to have been missed, therefore free of underseal, or at least not have as much. As the bars have a 'back' and 'front' you can tell which went where. Not so easy if no underseal present, or indead if no arms fitted! I've tried checking the spline wear before now to see if that gave a clue but found that unreliable.
