Coil

How can I check my coil? My moggy will not start and there is no spark at the end of the lead from the coil to the distributor. I have tried shorting out the contacts on the coil and there is a good spark but nothing at the end of the lead.

Is the lead broken?? How are you 'shorting' the coil?? Doesn't seem like a good idea.... Ideally - measure the impedance across the two terminals with a simple meter. Should be 3.2/3.4 ohms.. You should note that It's NEVER the coil!
