grill surround
Can someone tell me when the grill surround on the mm changed from the chrome surround to the painted surround . I ask because I have been told by the FHVCC that my car is 1951, but I have read that the painted grill, which mine has, didn't come in until 1952. Please explain.

My very original late 1951 "MM" certainly had a one-piece front panel with painted grille.
