Morris Minor Owners Club

Dear All

Just a few lines to introduce myself,have been a Lotus Elan Plus2 owner for the past 20 years ( which I bought on impulse...and not regretted ),having converted it to Megasquirt Fuel Injection and ABS braking etc etc , but for the past dozen or so years have had a hankering for a Morris Minor sleeper....so, as I'm not getting any younger ( 62 ) and no longer feel sporty, am about to take the plunge....but this time the correct way...join the owners club first and glean all the info and then jump into ownership.

Living in Manchester with a small garage/workshop ( no cat-swinging ) am mulling over a 2/4 door ? , removable hardtop ?convertable ? ,pre-60 model ( tax/mot exempt ) ? , 2.0 Zetec engined ? , 5 speed gearbox ? DVLA 8 point system ?? , and having had a plastic car for all these years am no lover of rust....
Have been to JLH is it ? but my wallet belonged to a Scotsman before I bought it second-hand....

Please feel free to pen any advice,the more the merrier.

P.S anyone local with an hour or so to spare,I'd love to come and take a look...

If you don't like rust stick to plastic, the only rust free Minors are the ones that have been stripped and rebuilt, then you have to pay a premium, and will need a different wallet!

There may be a guy selling a high specced zetec minor - built by retro cars I think at a not inconsiderable cost - huge saving to be made. I'm not sure how to get in touch, but possibly ask on the mmo site.
