Dodgy power tools

I’ve just had a cup brush on my angle grinder fly apart in use, fortunately without serious injury to me or the surroundings. It is an unbranded one which I picked up on a stall at a car show. From the start it vibrated unpleasantly so it can’t have been much good as bought.

I guess the answer is to stick to branded products, and also to check that it is marked with a speed rating suitable for your grinder.

Dont let age put you off either.
The last few decades saw the Black and Decker range made in Spennymoor in co.Durham.
The factory sadly is no more, production was moved to the Czech Republic, the quality of the tools made from the 70s onwards is very good, I have a late 70s hammer drill that refuses to die.
In addition the Dewalt range is made by Black and Decker, a tad too rich for my hobby tastes but still good quality.
