Morris Minor Owners Club

I've removed the two glove boxes on my Traveller to replace the windscreen washer jets and heater hoses. On both sides coming down from the roof A Frame is a wire ( multi stranded cable ) Has anyone any idea what they are there for? My guess is they may tension the roof lining?
Looking forward to some answers.

You have answered your own question, it does indeed tension the head lining.
