Oh, Bu£$%er!
I'm sure you'll sort it Steve! It might be worth asking round at the club- as you sometimes get folk selling good second hand new/ old stock type panels.
more time and money? Just don't tell the missus! ;)

RE: chassis leg setback
Yup! I'll be there, as I missed the last two, and I might (fingers crossed) be arriving in a freshly road legal 1969 Traveller!
Are butterworths the company that also does chroming?? I'm going to make the car look a bit prettier, once its MOT'd.
Galvanising would make the leg harder to weld on??

yes mate they do chrome, ill have too grind off galv on flange for welding but i want the bottom half protected mostly,still,see how much they want first!, also fumes,cyanide i think, but if it dont cost too much they should last a long time with drain holes and waxoil too,steve

RE: chassis leg setback
Or a much cheaper way to get most of the protection- weld thru zinc primer on the welded flanges, zinc primer (applied to bare keyed metal) on the inside and outside of the leg, and a tough coating on the outside (hammerite or stone chip).
Then keep the outside waxoyled and squirt thinner stuff on the inside- such as dinitrol 3125.
OTOH, freshly galvanised pieces do look lovely!
let us know how much.
