Have just heard from a friend in Denmark who has bought an early 48 Tourer that needs some restoration and has a few parts missing.

If you can help please let me know.

The parts he initially needs are
The Lucas L482 rear lights - lenses dont matter as I have them but a body or two is needed.

The front screen interior metal trim

Please either phone me on 07831 574495 or email bryan.gostling@mmoc.org.uk if you can help

That would be QUITE a find. Did you mean "early 49" Tourer, I presume?

Did he happen to send the serial number? I know the Series MM Register would like to know about this one!

best, jv.

Might have a NOS 482 going on Ebay as soon as I can work out how to use it.

Wow! I think I vaguely recall knowing that existed, delighted it's still around. And of course definitely a 1949 car!

Do we know when the very first LHD examples came off the line?

The first 'USA' high-lamp car wasn't until Jan 1949 (or perhaps last week of December for the prototype, can't recall).

Will keep the eyes open in the garage for the last bit 8) The car is for sure 1948, very early mm in good hands now. 👍

Good luck restoring it.

Thank you for your message. Thomas will be pleased if you can find it. He hopes to have the car finished ready for the NMMK annual camping holiday which will be near him in Denmark in 2022. He is very much a Minor man so your old car is in good hands.
