Hi All
I'm approaching the end of my restoration of my '64 4 door. I've been looking for professional re chroming but they all seem to have about a 5 month plus wait. I'm wondering if anyone has used any of the home kits that are available and how they got on. I'm thinking for all the smaller bits, obviously no the bumper blades. Any information greatly received.
Dave

Is this the sort of thing you're thinking of?

Hi
I wasn’t thinking of that, more like in the link below.

A bit like breaking bad. It’s just that 5 months without any shiny bits after sooo much effort to sort the rest of the car out seems a bit of a pain. Thinking of the electro plating for the small parts.

Surprisingly good results can be obtained with powder coating.

You can also get chrome vinyl wrap which works very well.

I used it to go from this

still looks the same 4 years later and at around a tenner a lot cheaper than replacing the bonded in screen.

I wonder if the powder technology has moved on since I had some motorcycle rims done years ago.
They looked good for a year or so, but eventually just turned grey, admittedly they have never rusted again but dont look very nice.
