Hello All. I have a good front wing except it has the piece that covers the door hinge pillar missing.
I presume that these parts aren't available separately so how do I tackle making one?
Cheers

Re: Front Outer Wing Repair
I did a similar repair but had the remains of the inner panel to work with
There was enough of it left for me to re-create both edges
The trailing edge of the wing was also shot so off it came
And a new section made up
Held in place with pop rivets while everything is lined up
Inner panel offered up to get the shape somewhere near
Trailing edge rolled and all welded in
I've done some more adjustment since this picture but a bit of filling still required to finish off
Hope this helps.

Re: Front Outer Wing Repair
probably better looking for a new or good used wing, lot of work involved ,little gain except for the satisfaction of course.
Re: Front Outer Wing Repair
I did look around and the ones I found were in a similar state for around £70 and with new ones well over £200 for Heritage and, as the head light area was fine, I decided to have a go. Nothing to loose except a crappy old wing
Re: Front Outer Wing Repair
Thanks for the pictures John it makes it clear to see the shape required.
I suppose the way to go would be to create the curved length and its lips and then shrink/stretch those lips at the top to create the second curve.
Where do we get our steel from? The prices on Ebay are extortionate.

Yes make it in sections, much easier than trying to do it in one piece.
I get my sheet from Auto Paint or another local auto paint suppliers I use, about £10, I think, for a 4x2 sheet of .9mm.
