Door Handles

Post by Peted7202 »

Is there a how to for replacing just the door handle, not the lock? Are all model cars the same door handle?

The same door handles fit the front of the van, pick-up and the 4door saloon models.
The handles fitted to the 2door saloon, the convertible and traveller are different to the above but the same as each other. One exception is that after about 1963, a key lock was fitted to the LH side handle on the 2door models.
How to remove the handles is explained in the workshop manual but basically you have to remove all the window frame from the top of the door before you can remove the door handle assembly.
If you are trying to replace just the outer chromed handle, you still have to remove the whole assembly first.

Thank you.
On the Moss Europe site it shows 3 - 2 door lock variations. External Lock, External Lock Late and Internal Lock. Each shows a different handle reference, but the illustrations look the same.

Not sure if you have managed to get the door handle removed yet. If not, here are the instructions from the factory manual - pretty much as many minors outlined.
