Rocker Cover: stickers? plates?

My rocker cover is shabby. I have another correct for my 1969 car, no breather pipe, but it needs refurbishment. I intend to de-rust the spare rocker cover, prime and paint.

My question is, should the rocker cover have glued plates or stickers at that date? If glued, what glue to use? The spare rocker cover has no holes drilled so never had riveted plates and neither did the one on my car.

My current rocker cover (which may or may not be original) has just a Morris sticker and nothing on the other side.

You seem to be an ‘as original’ type of guy, if this is the case, there is a book called the original Morris Minor that you would find helpful with details of what went where and when.

Thank you. I did not know about that book and I will look for a copy. You’re right. I do like “as original” but I do consider changes if there is a good enough reason. For instance, I fitted rear seat belts because it is illegal (and stupid) to transport an unrestrained dog on the back seat. I still won’t change from positive earth though!

Yes for instance, I have discovered that engines with the number starting 10ME-U-H with positive crankcase ventilation were destined for North America. My engine is 10ME-U-H and originally had the Smiths PCV valve attached to inlet manifold. The system did not work very well on my engine (even with a different PCV valve and good diaphragm) so in my case I switched to a breather type carburettor. Interesting to me though as I did not know that this was definitely original (it is unusual). My car is one of the very last Convertibles made; the engine is original.
