Problems sending private message

Hi there - I have been trying to send a private message to a member, having inserted his username, when I press submit the message just stays there. Please can you advise what I may be doing wrong? Thanks Jeff
Ps - I have mailed this user many times before with no issues

Do you mean that it stays on the screen without submitting or that ot stays on your outbox. Just prior to sneindg, it should look like this:
