Horn

Post by Mark.stephenson485 »

My horn has the wire for the horn push going down the steering column.
Where does it come out?
Also on my new loom I think the wire is purple and black but it is with the indicator stalk wires where do I conect it?

The wire you refer to does not "come out" anywhere exactly. It provides an electrical link between the horn push (when pressed) and the slip ring on the steering column. The slip ring connects to a copper "brush" or shoe which is part of the indicator assembly. The copper brush is then connected to a wire that runs in a bundle in a black sheath with the other indicator assembly wires. Those wires make their connectors behind the driver's side glovebox into bullet connectors. On older indicator assemblies the horn wire is brown and on the Lucas branded indicator assembly I installed recently it was brown with a black trace.
