Steering Columns and wheel fitting

Post by Peted7202 »

As I understand there were two 1000 steering columns the early manual return signal and the later self return mechanisms. Are the wheel splines the same?

The splines are the same but there are two very similar three spoke wheels, with and without the hole to secure the horn push.

Thanks. Do you have any detail for the later self cancelling setup with a 3 spoke?

We don't have as many Series V Minors over hear and I haven't worked on any but I think the self canceling turn signal with the light at the end of the stalk was the same tot he end of production. To be self canceling a short square head screw is threaded into a hole in the column. Other wise the column itself is the same, but the outer piece the column rides in changed with the change in turn signal switch.
