Under bonnet insulation pad

I've been pondering on whether or not to buy & fit one. How effective is it at cutting down sound? My van is parked outside all year & in certain conditions get a lot of condensation in the engine bay. Does the insulation pad help with that, or make things worse?

Also, does it increase overall heat inside the engine bay? as I have problems with fuel overheating, which I'm trying various things to solve, work in progress.

I put one on my old van years ago and I wouldn't bother again. It was a pain to get to stay on even using extra glue some areas would sag after time. On my new van I will just use the sound deadening bitumen squares.

That's interesting to hear, thanks! The insulation squares sound like a better option, as easier to fit.
