Lockheed servo

I am a guest on the forum and was recommended to the forum by a friend.

They said that the club would be able to point me in the direction of a genuine Lockheed brake servo.

I need one for my Volvo Amazon. Would anyone know where to buy one from.

Morris minor never had a servo any that have are retro fitted

I don't know anything about Volvo Amazon cars (other than they look great and The Saint drove one). One of the big Morris Minor parts suppliers sells a Lockheed servo but I do not know whether this is what you need.

I was advised to ask here as I was told that the Morris Minor group use Lockheed servos on there cars and would know where to by originals from.

Lots are replicas of lockheed servo, the the link I posted is to a company selling genuine, contact them and as if they sell the model you need.
Do the volvo owners club not have any sources?
Are you looking for single circuit or dual? Morris Minor uses single circuit braking system.
Do you mean the servo or the master cylinder which is lockheed on a minor.

I don't think you'll really find anything "Genuine Lockheed" now apart from new/old stock. Lockheed ceased to exist as a company some years ago. There are specialists around who will recondition a servo.

You have very little chance of finding a NOS Lockheed Servo.
In fact, the history of the Lockheed Brand isn't as simple as people think, or 'remember'...

Automotive Products (AP) started in 1920.

Around 1928-30, they began licence manufacture of brake parts from the American Lockheed Corporation.

In the 1930s they began to make Borg and Beck clutches and even aircraft landing gear...

By the mid 1950s, they were supplying 50% of Brakes and 85% of Clutches in the UK.

In the 1960s, the decline began with foreign imports and in the mid 80s, AP was sold to British Belting and Asbestos (Who's ever heard of them??)

AP was sold a few more times before ending up with Delphi Automotive Systems in 2000.

Between 2000-2006 there were a few things going on and there was an announcement that 'As a result of problems with the pension fund we have had to place AP Hydraulics Limited into Administration'.
It was then acquired by Caparo Group and trades as 'Caparo AP Braking'.....
Although if you look them up, there is a website which hasn't been updated since 2006, ...and I gave up looking into them when I found that the company was dissolved in 2019...

So what would you regard as 'Genuine Lockheed'?
The reality is that in the UK, they were always 'AP' Brakes... Who makes them now, I have no idea.
I think you need to be a Forensic Accountant to follow the trail via Companies House.

But there are still plenty of Classic Spares suppliers offering 'Genuine Lockheed Servo', perhaps you could ask them where they come from.
