Part identification

Post by Bill_qaz »

After removing and checking needle valve on AUD13 carb I found this on work bench. Does anyone recognise it. Checked the carburettor parts diagrams but cannot identify it.
Possibly from the many other she'd projects.

It's the cover over the carburettor float bowl breather/overflow hole isn't it?

Even more strange that the float lid in that diagram is from a twin HS2 setup!

You can clearly see the part here though: https://www.morrisminorspares.com/fuel- ... s2-p830672

So it is still used on new float lids. That black float by the way is the "stay-up" type. It is supposedly impervious to ethanol and is made of a type of foam rather than being hollow so it cannot leak and sink.

I think the common cost saving in the industry of using illustrations for multiple products.
They list it as "SU Carburettors and Spares for Morris Minor 1098 cc HS2 1962 to 1970"
https://sucarb.co.uk/carbspec/carburett ... es/id/1907

Yes Burlen completely redesigned their website a few years ago and it is much more difficult to use than it was......
