I have made an executive decision and will not be progressing any further on building a uprated 998cc in line 'A' Series engine.
The block assys are in good condition, the coolant galleries have been soaked in citric acid and are clean.
The better of the two blocks I believe could get away with just replacing the rings after a good hone. They have been re-bored in the past.

Also I have numerous parts - NOS 998cc pistons, good used 998cc flat top pistons, Cooper rods, MG 2 ring camshaft, 940 head, NOS 9 spring stronger clutch cover available plus other NOS parts but they will not be free but could be part of a 998cc engine build package if so desired.

Hi Phil. I'd love to have a 948 block and crank please, especially if they don't need any work. Where abouts in Hampshire are you?

I would not go so far as to say no work is required but they are in too good a condition to just throw away.
Just north of Romsey in the Test Valley.
