I have about 890 Series MMs listed wordwide and probable about half of those are in UK. I do not have the information as to how many are still on the road as many are in storage or restoration projects. Hopefully the 60h anniversary rally will see a good turnout.

Which partly answers my queston as to whether Minor owners prefer talking about and working on their cars to driving them

For me working on the cars is just a necessary!! Its hard to beat being out driving them and then meeting and talking to all sorts of people at the rallies and shows. Its not the same going to events without your own Minor. Even on club nights someone has to turn up in a Minor :D

I couldn't agree more :D I just wish a few more felt like this, as it does seem very hard to motivate people to use them :(

This is the same problem with the AGM too . 14,000 and maybe just over 100 attendees. Its very much the same across the board of car clubs though, but probably more so with the MMOC who's members average age is still quite high.
People today also have much more to do and have limited time in which to indulge their hobbies etc. So long as the cars are owned, being built,or used just on high days at least they are still there. One could liken ownership to religion, you can be a resolute believer but not need or desire to go to church. :o :D
