Re: Blackwell Tunnel
Is this tunnel still used, I thought the current tunnel was moved a bit, Either way it makes me wonder how the men who made this ever did it, Inustiral Britain ay it's best.

Re: Blackwell Tunnel
There are plans to build another tunnel nearby and to put a toll on the Blackwall tunnel to pay for it!
They are of course having a "consultation" about it, we know what that means

Re: Blackwell Tunnel
A toll ?, thats just another stealth tax, It might be better to put a McDonalds at either end of the tunnel and just create one huge drive through and then get McDonalds to build the new tunnel, If you are an MP reading this please do not take this idea and make it real,

Regarding Thames tunnels see:-
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thames_Tunnel
The area around Rotherhithe is well worth a visit especially H's cafe in Neptune St SE16 http://russelldavies.typepad.com/ateaan ... ptune.html
Afterwards wash it all down with a pint in the Mayflower pub near the south shaft of the Rotherhithe Tunnel.

Having visited the above venues several times I can recommend both.
