Burnt out Minor
Anyone see the burnt out shell of a Minor saloon in the news coverage of the London riots, somebody's pride & joy gone, hope it didn't belong to anyone on here, sad.

Re: Burnt out Minor
I haven't seen that, though sadly I did think special vehicles would unfortunately be caught up in the vandalism. I too hope it is no-one on here?

Re: Burnt out Minor
Very sorry for the poor folk caught up in this.
Anti-capitalism is one thing, randomly smashing stuff up, ruining other peoples livelihoods and stealing their possessions is quite another.

they should get a water cannon and put neat acid in it.
then they can just wash the trash down the drain.

Re: Burnt out Minor
OH NO! Another one gone. Was it a saloon?
if i lived in the middle of a big city and could not park off road I would not have a classic, would be heartbreaking for something like this to happen to a car one had spent a lot of time restoring.

Re: Burnt out Minor
Shame to hear about the Minor, seems like quite a number of historic buildings have been damaged beyond repair too .
A guy on a motorcycle forum I'm a member of, had a bike that he'd paid for but not yet collected (or insured), looted from the dealership.

Surely in this scenario it would be in their care and therfore their responsibility. Hopefully the shop will be able to include it on their claimchrisd87 wrote:Shame to hear about the Minor, seems like quite a number of historic buildings have been damaged beyond repair too .

Re: Burnt out Minor
I think the bit of film showing the burnt out minor was a film excerpt from 1985 not the happenings of the last few days. The clothing especially police uniforms were wrong.

Just been doing a bit of news reading and found this:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2011/aug/0 ... h-lockdown
The Riots (Damages) Act 1886 specifies that where damage is caused by people "riotously and tumultuously assembled", local police authorities are required to compensate victims.
