Tricia Loades
In September we hope that we will be able to hold a picnic and resume our indoor meetings in October but, of course, time will tell and please check with Tricia our Secretary or take a look at our website and Facebook pages.
In July we held our first Branch outing since last September. Members enjoyed a fun day at Starwing Brewery at Redgrave where we were able to sit outside, have a beer and just catch up after such a long time apart. We were even joined by an Essex Branch member. One of
our members, Dave Cragie, also organised a gathering of branch members at Southwold Boating Lakes in August.
It was good to read the article from John Warner in the last Minor Matters on his day at our first branch event way back in 1980. We have been reporting on the early days in our newsletters and also if you take a look at our website we have a section called ‘Rear View’ with photos from the early ‘80s.
We would like to finish our report with a thank you to Sue Cook, who would remind us on looming deadlines and also who did much for the MMOC as a whole. We wish Sue a happy retirement. Thank you.

Although we have had no branch meetings
– Zoom or otherwise! – we managed a short outing on Drive It Day. Six cars completed a triangular tour of St Albans, Wheathampstead and Harpenden. We saw a few other classics en route and got lots of waves and smiles from the public. We hope to restart the meetings in July, touch Traveller framework.

Avon Jenni Wood
The Avon branch has been really busy since Lockdown has lifted and we were able to have our first branch meeting in 18 months. It
was lovely to see a great selection of cars and some new members. Adrian Sawyer kindly organised a drive out over the Mendips, with a coffee stop at The Inn at Freshford, finishing for lunch at Hartley’s kitchen. The drive took in some fabulous roads and beautiful views, around Charterhouse, Midford Castle and Pennyquick Hill.
The training days continue to be a success, the most recent showing owners how to adjust their brakes and check the master cylinder fluid level. Where necessary, advice was given on shoe wear and any work that may require further attention.
