            MMOC End of Season Show
Following on from the very successful MMOC Picnic in June, we have agreed to run a spares weekend at Kelmarsh to replace the club’s spares day at Derby.
We have invited all the Morris Minor traders to attend and hopefully they will join in with our event. An area for carbooters will also be available on both days for members to sell all those parts no longer needed. These pitches are free to members and traders who pre-register.
25-26 September at Kelmarsh Hall, Northampton. Camping opens at midday on Friday 24.
Saturday 25 from 10.00am: Spares. Car boot area. Area for branch members to meet and chat.
Saturday Evening: we are looking to arrange some music with a local band for Saturday night, but this is weather-dependent and finding a band who would like to perform. Members will need to bring refreshments alcoholic and non-alcoholic etc.
Sunday 26 September from 10.00am: Spares. Car boot area. Area for branch members to meet and chat. Kelmarsh Gardens and tea rooms will be open.
Monday 27 Camping closes at 11.00am
Other information: camping is basic with Tardis toilet units, (Cabinet and Disabled) which will be cleaned. Unfortunately showers are not available. Prices: camping for the Weekend is £15. Entry for the weekend is £10 per car. If you are camping and attending on both days the fee is £25. All payments are due on the day of arrival in cash or by card machine. Refreshments: we are working with suppliers to ensure that catering is available on both days, in addition to the Kelmarsh Tea rooms on the Sunday.
British Motor
Museum
The British Motor Museum participated in the government ‘Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme’ which ran during August offering free places for children aged 8-12.
Up to 15 children per day took part
in a wide range of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths (STEAM) workshops. Children had the chance to spark their curiosity and become an Energy Apprentice by learning all about power and inventions through the amazing collections at the Museum. During the week the children were also joined by Kineton
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering
& Maths) who provided a daily 60 minute exercise routine. School holidays can be pressure points for families because of increased costs and reduced incomes, which can lead to a holiday experience
gap. The programme aims for children
who participate to eat more healthily, be more active and take part in engaging
and enriching activities. Funding to cover costs for materials, staffing and meals was provided by the Department of Education and the programme was supported by Warwickshire County Council. www.britishmotormuseum.co.uk.
