The outer flange was repaired at both ends and a new panel cut from flat steel and welded in...[frame][/frame]

The door was fitted to check the gap to B-pillar and the wing was loosely fitted too...[frame][/frame]

They are plug welds. I have the power turned right up to make sure there is good penetration (getting a small pip on the other side) and with practice they are getting better and better.

Moving back now to the boxing panel extension and lots of pictures for you Sparticus! This is what we have, a typical scene once the spring hanger is removed. This area should form a continuous box section that forms the outer chassis rail and runs from the front wheelarch to back of the car (past the rear spring hanger). I used the floor repair section that has the inner sill step attached. ?This forms the inner and upper sides of the "box".[frame][/frame]

There is a repair panel available for the outer section, but as you can see it is not like the original. The hole should be rectangular and you can see that the original area has an overlapping panel too. The good thing is that the shape of the hole doesn't matter and I will not be using the part of the panel where the overlap is.[frame][/frame]
