History

Post by kengilbert »

Would any member have any advice on how to set about obtaining some history of my recently aquired Moggie. It,s a 1958 1000 4 door saloon with the registration number 508XUF. The number plate, I dont think is original. I have the engine number, the chasis number, and the vechicle registration document, and have sent these details to the DVLA, The fellow I bought the car from, is a Coach Builder in Nottingham, and has made what seem to me, a very good job of the restoration, but has not given me any documentation reguarding the history. (Perhaps he has never had any either)
Thanks Ken
Image
The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust will, for a fee, supply you with a Production Trace Certificate for your car. Search BMIHT for their website

Sorry for the rather late thank you folks but thanks  . Ive since found out since, that for a £5.00 fee, the DVLA will supply a list of past owners names and addresses to the current registered owner. As my Moggie is a 1958 model, I await with baited breath the Low-Loader from Swansea

Ken, it is very interesting to read too. Especially if there has been quite a few owners... you can trace a map of where the car has been throughout the UK. In my case Chipping Warden, to Stourport, to Wolverhampton then to Birmingham!

Spotted this car running around in burton on trent yesterday, looked really good! I searched on here by the reg to have a look because I couldn't make my mind up if it's in the turquoise or another type of blue? Nice car!
