Re: fan blade and pulley paint colour
I've never seen a sump or bottom pulley anything other than the same as the engine on an original car.
My 1950s Minor 1000 has a red fan and pulley although later cars were yellow. I would think that red is also correct for you car.

Agreed. My 1954 SII (with light blue engine!) had a red fan and water pump pulley too.
Re: fan blade and pulley paint colour
Just to be awkward, I painted my 1970 ones red with yellow tips to the blades

Our 1958 948 engine originally had a red water pump pulley and yellow fan blade. The current 1380 still has a red pulley, but uses an electric fan - the original yellow blade is in the boot, just in case!

Paint them any colour you like - who cares! As long as it's Hi-Viz so you don't stick your fingers in the fan......
Re: fan blade and pulley paint colour
You can't go around with the wrong colour fan blade Roy, that's nearly as bad as not polishing the inside of the exhaust pipe!

That'll make mine non original but I'll give you that one!
Ps. Still looking for a supplier of the black windscreen infill !!

Re: fan blade and pulley paint colour
Here we go a sensible question if I'm taking the time to make the engine pretty id simply like to know how it started out and paint it that colour no exhaust polishing etc etc and stupid sarcastic answers just a straight forward red or whatever would suffice thankyou.
Re: fan blade and pulley paint colour
Indeed - and as I replied - 'whatever' is fine ! This is the 'Mechanical' section - I suggest the Q would have been better placed in 'Other'.
Re: fan blade and pulley paint colour
I think the pop is aimed at me rather than you Roy. Paint it yellow if you want it as factory.
Re: fan blade and pulley paint colour
I have freshly painted yellow and red ones 'in stock' - including the larger diameter pulley fitted to later Mini engines to reduce both noise and power consumption - if that helps.....
