Upgrading my grease gun
My ancient telescopic-action Tecalemit gun struggles to achieve sufficient pressure, and when it does the grease usually leaks out at the nipple-connector joint, failing to enter the component. Any experiences and advice on buying a new gun would be very much appreciated.

Having not needed a grease gun for many years I was pleasantly surprised at how good this one is https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sealey-AK48-Op ... gre&sr=8-1

Re: Upgrading my grease gun
Wanner grease guns are a nice size, but try and get a flexi made up as the solid nozzle can be difficult to get into some of the grease points.
I picked my Wanner up cheap from E-bay for a few quid.

Re: Upgrading my grease gun
Placing an old rag between the grease nipple and the grease gun nozzle can help them seal and prevent the grease from just making a mess around the nipple! I find have to do this to get anything into my steering rack at all.

Either works (although cue furious debate on the matter).

I have had my Wanner grease gun for 40 odd years and it has been well used and it is still going strong.

Re: Upgrading my grease gun
If you release the pressure from the grease gun can the end of the grease gun be released from the nipple.
My Wanner grease gun has a pressure release valve for the connector as well as the grease container air bleed.
Two things may be wrong
1. The grease nipple is blocked so not letting the pressure in the gun go down which grips the nipple even tighter.
2. The grease gun end is faulty.

Re: Upgrading my grease gun
I had a similar issue - then I realised the nipple attachment is on a screw thread that allows the ‘ gripping ‘ tension to be adjusted . Could that the problem . I can post a pic. if that helps !!

Re: Upgrading my grease gun
As Shropshiremoggie, I had same issue and found unscrewing at the middle of the gun end made releasing from the nipple easier when it was new, (a bit like a drill chuck). I have since tightened up the joint and is fine now. The newness perhaps.
If you need a new gun end Pressol are good.
