This continues to be a great section but all those metal headlamp peaks will have BMCecosse spinning in his grave, bless him.
Best wishes,
Mike.

On the A396 just north of Tiverton passed all the Minor Millions with I think two vans, a pickup and a splitty, on their annual run. What a treat. Much waving and tooting as we all negotiated the many cyclists who seem to commandeer that stretch of road on a Sunday morning. Me and the Memsahib were in Maurice heading to to Knightsayes Court, roof down of course.

Re: Spotted today.
As a newby to the forums I had no idea until reading the above re. headlight surrounds that Roy was no longer with us - already, his posts and replies that I've found have been incredibly useful to me starting out in the realms of moggy ownership. So much so that I'll seek out the threads that have responses from him!
Just goes to show how fantastic the forums are that the stories, advice and experiences of someone like Roy can remain accessible even after he's sadly departed.

Re: Spotted today.
Spotted in Norton St Philip yesterday an interesting looking and sounding pickup, black with red wheels and a non standard exhaust note. Must be local as it passed the pub twice.

Re: Spotted today.
Spotted yesterday evening - forgot to post yesterday.
Series 5 blue van. It was very dark where it was parked and my smartphone flash didn't do too well. By the time we returned to our car, the van had gone.
I think the colour was more turquoise, but the image looks green.
DVLA have it as "green".

Re: Spotted today.
Around 12.30 today in Ruddington Nottinghamshire, spotted a Black 4 Door, looked like it was an early Minor 1000 as had larger rear window and it had the '56-63 style L549 rear lights with large chrome base.
Reg was USL I think, so another Scottish 'age related' plate issued by DVLA.

Re: Spotted today.
Spotted on Midsomer Murders last night....
But those rear doors looked unusual to me, I thought rear doors were always with a double impression and a larger window like this?
It comes up on DVLA as a 1971 Austin 6cwt van with that reg number, which is a little unusual as in my experience they frequently change plates for vehicles on TV, but I guess this was only on screen for a few seconds so they didn't bother. But those rear doors looked unusual to me, I thought rear doors were always with a double impression and a larger window like this?

Re: Spotted today.
They are the earlier doors aren't they. Upto about 1963 had the smaller windows. It is interesting that the van pictured has "add on" rear indicators which would also suggest an earlier vehicle but the body pressing around the light mountings is for a LATER van .
Like so many, it is rather a bitsa!

Interesting. Purely by chance, I just stumbled upon a listing for it being sold last September:ManyMinors wrote: ↑Wed Feb 05, 2020 12:08 pm They are the earlier doors aren't they. Some interesting images; definable a 'Bitsa' beyond my ability to put a date on it.
Perhaps a '71 van that someone decided to make look like an older one when restoring it?

There was a green Morris Minor motor home on the one show tonight where five people have been living it for nine months.
