Re: Currently drinking.....
Just booked the ferry to come to the UK in March (in a Moggie, of course), my first time in 4 years and first time since having to drink gluten free beer. I am looking forward to tasting some different non-lager type gf beers.
Have heard there's nothing gf at the NEC at the bars though - pity, as I won't be driving that day. Any further info v welcome, thanks in advance. (Have asked the gf beer group on FB too)
Oh, and if anyone has a decent usable four door for sale we could be interested....Must be MOTed, solid and ok to drive the 500 miles back home here. Does not have to be concours as it would be a daily driver for us.

Re: Currently drinking.....
My father's MG Midget started on the second turn of the key (Fired once on the first turn) yesterday, after more years than I can remember. It's another of his car projects that has faltered and with him not being so well now, I have taken it on. There wasn't so much left to do but there was a Peter Burgess "Econotune" head (I have one on the Traveller) to fit, plus all that goes with it and he had bought, but not fitted, an Aldon electronic points set. Anyway, yesterday was the day of judgement, so after a final turn of the starter (Not fuel pump or ignition connected), to get some oil pressure, in went the plugs, the fuel pump was switched, the ignition connected and it started. There was a bottle of Bishop's Finger set aside to mark the occasion.
There are a few things to do like fit new front callipers and brake lines, refit the door drop glasses and then I hope that's it. I felt it would make sense to get the car mobile first, as there's nobody to give me a push with it. The drive, outside my parents garage, slopes up a bit (Not a lot but more than enough to make pushing it solo a tad tough). If I need to move it out, I can control it with the handbrake for that.

I think I would suffer if I drank all of those in one go!

Re: Currently drinking.....
Looks like we’ll not be drinking at the pub for a while
Re: Currently drinking.....
I don't drink much at all but quite out of the blue my wife has just suggested that we 'open a bottle'. Much to her surprise, I agreed.
Do you reckon that if I drink enough and pass out, someone can arrange to bring me round again...….about September?

Re: Currently drinking.....
For those blighted with an alcohol free diet because of medications, I have found "San Miguel Alcohol Free" Lager to be quite good / bearable, unlike many alcohol free offerings around.
Re: Currently drinking.....
My local is selling off their current draught beer at cost - it will only go to waste otherwise, just give them a call and turn up with a suitable container and they fill it. Currently drinking slightly flat Otter
