Morris bonnet badges.

Post by Tapitha »

I have noticed that many Minor 1000s have their M badge on the bonnet "handle" and the cow Morris badge on the front coloured. Should there be a background colour or are they meant to be just silvery metal? Same goes for hub cap centres. I have also noticed that many cars have a thin colour coach line along the body side. Should I have this?

It's a BULL!
Red background to M Motif on handle.
Red bull, blue waves, blue background to MORRIS letters, chrome background to shield
No colours on hub caps except in 1951 when hub caps were painted due to a nickel shortage.
Narrow coach line on body, see http://seriesmm.mmoc.org.uk Car Ident - Paint/Trim Colour Schemes

Hello from the continent,

I've choosen a special enamel colour from revell. Now my bonnet bagde looks like the original one from the sixtees.

Comes from Anglo Saxon Cufan Leah (later Cowley) meaning clearing (leah) in the wood (cufan)

Isn't Google wonderful! :D

This must have happened when British Leyland was formed, as they laid quite a few funny eggs.

Some early cars I believe had a plain Bull insignia on the bonnet, indeed I swapped my own plain S.II one for a coloured badge.
