indicator stalk help

it's been that long since i turned the steering wheel in my 66 2dr i've forgot if the indicators are self cancelling or not. if not i've got a problem in the coloum switch gear i think. its been in the shed since i took it off over 12 months ago and i did'nt need to use it as the car came on a trail...

bang it on the barbi for about 30 min .in the colder months make sure your burning propane gas, orange bottle. butane, blue bottle burns slowly at the colder temps and freezes at 0c.check the temp if you can with a probe. i got mine on at 299c. eazy pezy. :D

stripped the dizzy down and guess what. those little balance weight springs go with a bounce don't they. lost totally. turned the garage upside down and where the little blighter got to is anybodys guess. does any one have a contact to purchase said springs. might be a good idea to change em both Doh

barbi works fine. cracked it up, placed the ring gear above the coals, attached a temp probe and shut the lid. left it for 30 mins on max and the temp had hit 301c. big pair of welding gloves and it went on a trteat. bit like waving a pencil in the albert hall. nice

ring gear

the ring gear on my 66 1098 saloon has got a section of about 5" long with some serious wear and the rest is well worn.
has any one taken off the gear and fit a new one?
i would rather pay £20 for a new gear than £80 for a new flywheel
