hi there, looking for a sympathetic looking roof rack, similar to louisem's one! does anyone have one that they don't use that i could purchase from them, i am in surrey area. i don't mind if it's a bit old and rusted, i can clean them up. i think i could do with a roof rack, how else am i going to get my fishing on in the summer?!
how does the roof rack fit, are they suction cups or do they fit onto the guttering of the car?
thanks all.

Re: old style roof rack questions ..
I got mine from e-bay for a bargain £25 - search for classic car roof rack or gutter fixing roof rack. There's something similar on at the moment: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Roof-Rack-Fit-Cla ... 4a9f3fddae
Mine fits using two brackets that clip to the gutter - the suction cups just protect the paintwork rather than secure the rack. The main Minor parts suppliers such as ESM, Birmingham Minor Centre etc sell reproduction versions (but not cheap!).

I may have one that would be suitable, but i am in Dorset (about 6 miles from Ringwood ) so is that too far? If not then i will look it out and get some pictures up for you!

Any suggestions on finding replacement suction cups? Mine have dry rotted.

Well i have 3 to choose from!
The 1st one pictured is beautifully detailed and would suit an early car well.
The 2nd one pictured is a later Desmo aluminium one, but is still in keeping with a late Minor age wise!!
The 3rd one pictured has had loads of use and abuse from me but has always proved to be a reliable and sturdy rack.
