I have purchased new rear lights for my Morris Minor 1000 (1961). Have removed wiring whilst doing some spray work - should have taken photo's as now haven't got a clue which connections go where.
The lights I have purchased are the later one's as the car had been converted previously.
If someone could photo their wiring and e-mail it to me I can work from that as I don't understand the technical diagrams in the manual.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Regards
Chris

Re: HELP IN CONNECTING UP NEW REAR LIGHTS
The wires from the light unit should be:
Black
Green
Red
Green/purple
As Aupickup has said, the wiring should go like to like but if you tell us what colour wiring you have in the car it will be easier to work out what colour goes where
(By the way I've edited your e-mail address to prevent you gettng lots of spam)

And have a look at the wiring diagram shown as the first post in this section. Print off a copy and keep it handy in the car.

Possibly the brake light switch is faulty?
Have you tried putting a jumper across the BLS, to see if that activates the brake lights?

Hi,
If you're fitting a new switch, then I'd suggest you fit a pair of LED side/brake "bulbs"
I've had mine for about 30 months so far - they're a bit brighter than the tungsten ones, but ....
I was getting through brake light switches every 12 months! (possibly the quality plus the arcing across the contacts).
The LEDs seem to have cured that...
