I say, if your doing the prep work but your getting it sprayed by a pro then id go for sattin. This is no disraspect but doing the prep work for gloss is sooo hard, where as satin makes your life a little easyer because it wont show all the lumps and bumps. my moggy is done in sattin but i just cut it back with 1500 wet and dry and then rubbing compound, gives it a nice shine, but not so much in your face :)

Sorry rato..this is the only picture i have of it..
The young guy who built it tried to do too many mods to it and sickened himself with it.in the end it was only out for about a season before getting broken for parts.
Some specs from what i can remember..
Roof chop
flip front
suiside doors
rumbel seat
1600cc twincam
marina axle and brakes..
He spent alot of time and money on this, but it was way off the mark

Gloss

Matt or Satin have been done to death over the last few years, it'll also look **** after a few weeks and you'll end up wanting to paint it again properly.

I was going to do mine satin black until I started looking into it properly. I thought it wouldn't be a problem if it's just a temporary measure but then I knew it wouldn't be that temporary. With the blue base you could go for period race car look or do scallops and save yourself the hassle of a full respray. Could even get them made up in vinyl.
